NSF Federal Credit Union PRIVACY NOTICE
NSF Federal Credit Union, your member-owned financial institution, is committed to providing financial services to meet your needs while protecting your financial privacy. In compliance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act regarding consumer privacy we disclose the following policy:
Information We Collect About You
We collect non public personal information about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms
- Information about your transactions with us, affiliates, or others
- Information we receive from a consumer credit reporting agency
Information We May Disclose
We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above to:
- Companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.
- Partner companies or companies that administer a specific financial service for NSF FCU and any party permitted or required by law. This includes information needed to conduct transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of the credit union, follow your authorized instructions or protect the security of our financial records.
- Credit Union affiliated service organizations or nonaffiliated* third parties approved by your elected Board of Directors to offer you goods or services that may benefit you. For example: NSF FCU would partner with an insurance company to offer various insurance products to our members.
- Any third party requesting information about you or your account with your written and signed permission. For example: Car dealerships requesting loan payoff amounts or mortgage companies verifying account and loan balances.
We prohibit the sale of your information by any company with which we conduct business. If you end your membership with NSF Federal Credit Union, we will not share any of your information except as permitted or required by law.
How We Protect Your Information
We restrict access to your non public personal information to those NSF FCU employees, committee members or board members who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your non public personal information. If we detect any potentially fraudulent or unauthorized activity, we will contact you immediately.
How You Protect Your Information
You have an important role in protecting your privacy. Protect your account numbers, PINs (Personal Identification Numbers), Debit and Credit Cards, and Social Security Number. Never keep your PIN with any card that could provide access to your account if lost or stolen. Protect your Membership ID Card. Use caution when disclosing any account information or numbers to a third party. If someone contacts you and asks for your account number, do not reveal it. Official credit union staff contacting you will have your account number. Contact us immediately if you discover fraudulent or unauthorized activity.
Opt Out Rights
If you prefer that we not disclose non public personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties*, you may opt out of those disclosures; that is, you may direct us not to make those disclosures (other than disclosures permitted by law).
